The hardened steel is very strong (and heavy). I ordered this tool because I have some deep shelving that is impossible to reach without some sort of extension tool or grabber. With this tool I can now reach 3 extra feet and pull bins, bags, or luggage that I slid to the back of the shelf. For my usage, this is overkill but I like it. I have some heavy grates on my property used with water drainage and sometimes I need to pull them up to clean out debris down below them to keep the water flowing smoothly. Prior to now I have always used a big screwdriver and it was a pain in the arse. Now with this tool I can insert the pointed end and pull them right up. These hook tool are very well made and long. No bending over to speak of. They are definitely made of heavy duty stainless steel. I just wish I had found these tools sooner.
