BEST THING ABOUT IT: drill guide converts to screw accessADDITIONAL LIKES: aligns adjacent carcasses, protective padsWORST THING ABOUT IT: clamping screws are densely threadedADDITIONAL DISLIKES/CONCERNS: takes a bit of time to get two clamps exactly the sameCATEGORICAL GRADINGPresentation/Packaging: CQuality/Craftsmanship/Materials: BPrice/Value/Worth: BFunctionality/Utility/Versatility: BInstructions/Ease-of-Use/Comfort: CMarketing vs Reality: C(Where “C” = Average)I am just getting a hobby shop setup for spending my time in retirement. My goal is to make custom shelves and cabinets to improve our storage throughout the house, garage and attic. It will require making a number of ‘’carcasses’ that will be adjoined. These clamps are very helpful in getting two adjacent carcasses aligned evenly and flush. They work wonderfully, but do take a bit of time to get two clamps to put identical pressure at two points. It is a minor issue, but one that might be improved with coarser threads on the mounts. One feature I find especially useful on these, however, is the drill guide that swivels out of the way allowing screws to be inserted in the hole just drilled while the carcasses remain aligned. This is a very useful feature. These will be placed in a high-use location in the shop so they remain readily accessible for routine use.*PRECISE RATING: 4.3RECOMMENDATION: I can recommend these clamps to DIYer’s like myself if they intend to make any cabinets. (As always, I will report back if there are any durability or performance issues with additional use.)I hope you found something informative and useful in this review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. Good luck with your decision.*Rating scale:5 = definitely buy again, happy to have it (exceptional in several characteristics,)4 = probably buy again (decent job of doing what I need, excels in one or two characteristics)3 = perhaps buy again after researching options (functions OK, looks OK, decent quality, average life expectancy but no outstanding characteristics) (in other words, average)2 = would not buy again (low end/below average merchandise and/or service, but not totally worthless)1 = sorry I bought it the first time (poor performance in several characteristics, no redeeming characteristics)

Handle welds are poor the balls on the end of the turn rods snapped off before they get good and tight. One of the clampps rod screw broke off the rendering it full unless managed to limp along with the other by using a screw driver in the hole where the bar would have been if it had not also broken.Do not recommended.

The JHdril Cabinet Clamps ($38.96 – 2 Pieces), made in China by shenzhenshipinzhengweidianziyouxiangongsi and sold in the U.S. by PINZHENGWEI Store, are dual-adjustable clamps specially designed to clamp two pieces of wood in alignment for drilling to assemble cabinet face frames or to attach hinges to cabinet doors, as well as other uses in cabinet or related construction. The dual adjustable feature is a third clamp face at a right angle to the main clamp’s opposing jaws (all three faces are padded) that aligns the two pieces of wood the main clamp secures. One of the main clamp’s jaws has a 1/4" drill bit guide with a 1/8” drill bit guide on a pivot that can be tightened in place with an Allen wrench, included in the package. According to the specs, the clamps are double powder coated steel.I am a firm believer in the woodworking axiom that it’s impossible to have too many clamps. Now I’m learning as important as having enough clamps is having the right clamp. The wall in our living room with the fireplace has built-in shelves above the cabinet on one side of the fireplace and only a semi-freestanding cabinet on the other side. My wife wants to tear out the shelves and in their place and on the other side of the fireplace build a matching set of glass door shelving units. The JHdril clamps have arrived in the nick of time.I am, however, dealing with a couple mini obstacles. I say, mini, because the obstacles are not terminal, i.e., forcing a return and refund. As a newbie, instruction manuals, even written by somebody for whom American English is a second, third, or fourth language, are much appreciated. The JHdrils arrive sans any directions. Fortunately, and no, I haven’t Googled for one, the Amazon listing has some good visuals. There’s also the matter of mastering the task of tightening sometimes complementary and sometimes competitive clamps requiring two hands at the same time as holding two pieces of wood together and keeping them aligned. As I understand the concept behind the JHdril design, this awkward process is necessary for the JHdril to deliver on its premise. But it’s still a pain. These admittedly niggling little ergonomic twists do not diminish the JHdril’s performance in doing its job. The design of the clamp jaws clearly focuses on the sizes and arrangement of cabinet face frames, the JHdrill’s primary application. The drill bit guides are helpful but limit the drill location to one. A slide-like guide providing a range of lateral locations would be a marked improvement. Pricing is a bit on the high side, but not out of line. Now what’s left is coming up with a design for the cabinets, finding the right wood (and preparing for the hit on the AmEx), and starting. Soon, dear, soon.
