This thing makes a lot of noise when it goes low voltage. I mean it's annoying. Sounds like a buzzer alarm is going off. I won't buy again because of that ridiculous sound it makes.

Cut off works good. The internal switch was loud on the cutoff. I expected it to be silent. I was planning to use this to protect a trail camera. That noise would drive animals away from the camera.

As stated by others this device both drawa far too much current just for its own needs but also does not cut off at the correct voltage. Had it covering for 4 lifepo4 cells in a 12V battery and it took the overall pack below 10V to the point the charger would no longer even attempt to charge them as a whole or individual cells.

Cuts off circuit when battery voltage drops below about 11v and restarts circuit when voltage gets back to > 11v

Only just got it wired into my homemade 18ah ammo box battery backup, but as soon as I connected the positive then the ground it clicked on and everything's been swell so far. Trying to run down the battery now to make sure it'll cutoff but my voltmeter is just crawling as far as battery drain is concerned. Pretty happy with it so far. Highly recommend if you make any homebrew circuitry to protect your battery.

It works better than others I've purchased. We are using these on our son's power wheels jeep and quad to convert the old battery to a Milwaukee 18v. He rides hard ( through mud and bumpy trails) and long periods. It was after a couple months of use it started to have intermittent pauses and then next thing I know it died for good. I noticed smoking so I took off the cover to discover a melted part on the device. I was told I needed this by my brother who is an electrician, said if you don't have one and your battery drained fully it will damage the lithium battery.

I used this to create a "smart" 12V extension cord for our GM SUV. Like most GM products, the power outlets in the SUV stay "hot" when the ignition is off. This can be useful, but it can also be a problem. You really want both options available. So I used this widget and a cut-up 12V extension cord to create an auto-switched 12V outlet. The default setting on the device is stupidly low, so I removed the lid on the unit (screws under the label) and plugged the unit into the accessory jack on the SUV with the engine off.To avoid relay chatter, there needs to be some kind of load on the output, I used the charging cord for a rechargeable tire inflator.I adjusted the trimpot clockwise until the relay opened, and then tested it by turning the engine on and off.Nearly instant perfection! The unit stays disabled with the engine off, stays off until about 5 secs after engine start, and shuts off within 5 seconds of engine turn-off.

Nice package that is easy to open and adjust the voltage setpoint (the reset follows). I set mine to 13.5 vdc and it works great turning off gps after turning the car ignition off. Similar units cost $45 to $75.
