I used this to change high up outdoor floodlights. It worked well for installing the lights - stayed put until released. For removing the old lights, it stuck well enough to untwist, but didn’t completely stick to them, so the old lights fell and broke. I suspected this would happen as outdoor floods are probably too dirty to make suction.

I ordered this device. It came very fast next day and it was easy to assemble. I was able to find a pole to attach to it, but it didn’t work as far as suctioning a regular lightbulb. It may only work with large bulbs or receding ceiling bulb otherwise seems like a great product. I will use it for my receding bulbs.

It doesn’t work! When it does adhere to the new bulb out of the box, the suction was very weak and easily broken. It wouldn’t attach to the one in the ceiling at all. Yes, I used the provided cleaning cloth, still nothing

The small suction cup on this tool led to wonder if this tool would work to remove BR30 fixture size bulbs from a recessed top-hat fixture located about 12-15' up on my ceiling. But it worked perfectly! This tool screwed into my extendable pole without a problem, the wing nut tightened it securely in place to avoid spin out, and both the suction cup and the bulbs never fell off during the removal and reinstallation process. I changed a total of 5 bulbs without any problem, without the need for a ladder, and working from floor height. I love the small dust cap provided, and the extension string that allows the user to disengage the suction cup, should it become attached in a bad location on the bulb surface. Both of these small details proved very helpful. Highly recommend.

The idea is good but this doesn't have enough of a grip to spin a stuck bulb.

I was tired of having to fetch a ladder when a ceiling bulb needed changing. I was pleasantly surprised by this gadget. It appears well made with little features that work well starting with the ability to accept a standard threaded end pole, a provided string to release the suction cup before lowering the pole down and a cute little bonnet to keep the suction cup clean while in storage.The gadget was easy to use and I was able to change an overhead bulb quickly. Just be sure to follow the instruction advising you to first drape a small cloth over the suction cup to remove dust accumulation on the bulb before attempting to stick the suction cup to it. Dust could prevent a good grip on the bulb.
