This is somehow both larger and smaller than I was expecting but I have a hard time visualizing things. It is a heavy glass and seems well made. You just pop the terra cotta bit into the glass bit (has a plastic seal) and fill er up. It holds between 1/2 and 3/4 of a cup of water. I wish that the terra cotta part was a bit sharper to poke more easily into the dirt, but it works. The pot I currently have it in, it has to lean against the side bc it's not super deep, but that's fine.

I have a collection of glass birds and was excited to see that I could use one to water my Bolivian begonia as well. The Naboher glass bird is beautifully crafted, heavier and larger than I envisioned. It was ease to attach the porous terracotta cone to the bottom, fill the bird with water, and insert it into the soil of my plant. However, I've now had it in place for two weeks and only a tiny bit of water is gone from inside the bird. The soil on top of my plant is dry, although it feels a little moist below the surface. The begonia is still alive, but it doesn't appear to be thriving. I'm trying to decide whether to remove the bird and just starting watering the plant normally. If this doesn't work for me as a watering device, I'll remove the terracotta cone and add the bird to my collection, keeping it in a window so it can catch the light.

Glass Bird Shaped Plant Watering Ball, AzureThis Glass Bird Waterer is MUCH better than the pictures. It's big, kind of heavy (made of thick glass, which is a good thing) and is beautiful!This was shipped in it's own styrofoam casing to ensure no breakage. It comes in two pieces. There are beautiful colors and a thick tera cotta clay post. It was a little hard to get it into the bottom of the bird (I didn't want to jam it and break the bird, so I was careful), it has a rubber stopper so the water doesn't leak out instead of going through the post.This holds plenty of water for at least a week, if not 10 days, easy. Especially since it's a slow waterer. I think it looks so pretty in my Thyme plant!This would make a great present or hostess gift.

What an adorable automatic watering ball! We are big fans of birds in this house so I jumped at the chance to get this for one of our larger indoor plants. It is much thicker glass than anticipated, which is nice. It's very cute and works perfectly. The small plug at the top allows for adding water without having the remove the entire thing from the plant, which makes it an improvement over other automatic watering balls I've used. It lasts 1-2 weeks and is perfect for use if you're traveling or even if you just don't want to have to remember to do frequent watering. I will definitely be purchasing more of these.

I could not be more pleased with this BEAUTIFUL glass bird auto watering decoration. This item came well packaged and perfect out of the box with zero defects. It is heavier and thicker than expected - in the best way possible - as it is far more sturdy and lovely than I even expected. The glass is thick, and the colors are even prettier in person than in the photos listed. It does a great job at slow watering as the water seeps through the clay detachable bottom into your plant. Even if you don't use it for water, it will be beautiful tucked into your plant.Additionally great is that if you wanted to just the bird decor on tabletop or shelf for decoration, because it comes in two pieces, the bird can be used as a decor item as it sits flat when detached from the clay watering plug. I am very pleased with the color, the design and the functionality of this bird and think it is just beautiful in my jade plant! Absolutely a great deal and lovely item to gift or to add to your garden/decor.

Many of the self-watering things are either plastic or very thin feeling glass. I was surprised that this is so heavy. I sure would not want to drop it on my foot-pretty sure the foot would lose that battle. The glass is beautiful and catches the light, making it sparkle. I thought this was over-priced when I ordered it but after seeing the quality I think it is priced reasonably. It's going to look really good in my pot that is partially the same shade of blue.
