These are a "must have" for any emergency supply. So simple to use - simply hold it in both hands, bend until the interior flask snaps open - then just shake a little. Your light will be a lovely green that illuminates your immediate surroundings (very immediate) for a good amount of time. I timed mine to almost 20 minutes - far over the 5-minutes indicated by the seller. Your not going to be able to drive with the light provided, but in an emergency this light gives you enough vision to operate within a few feet of where you are. It should be able to give you enough light to walk around familiar places or find your lost flash light. Put a few in your cars emergency supplies.

General use of glow sticks:I keep glow sticks in my truck for emergencies. They work as lights that don't require batteries, or for signaling, etc. They're also great for a soft glow light while camping or power outages. And of course, they can be used for fun reasons too! Keep one in a first aid kit in case you need to do first aid in the dark and don't have a flashlight.This particular glow stick:I hadn't noticed at first - these say 5 minute duration (other ones will claim a 8-12 hour duration or similar). What they mean is HIGH INTENSITY 5 minute duration. I tested one and actually it glowed very brightly for well over 5 minutes, then glowed brightly until rather abruptly dying out after a total of 37 minutes. So these are good for an emergency when you only need light for about half an hour. These are not the party kind. They give off a much brighter glow than the party ones (but don't last as long).The plastic tube can be clipped on something, and it also came with a long string so you can tie it around your neck or hang it from a tree branch, etc.The product listing is accurate except they actually last longer than it says.No expiration date on the package.

Comes out super bright and strong. Then dies out 20 mins later. Within 30 mins they're completely dead.

I was torn at first in how to rate these chem lights. They glow really bright, but it lasts for a very short time. So at first I was thinking a fail, but then reexamining the package and I saw that it was described as a super bright 5 minute light. That it definitely is. So I can not fault it for doing what they tell you it does.It functions perfectly as it is described so therefore five stars.If you need a 6 or 12 hour steady light, this is definitely NOT your product. Don't buy it and be upset or disappointed that it does what they say. If you need a short duration high intensity chem light then this is perfect.

These glow sticks are seriously bright and perfect for concerts, camping, or parties. They light up fast and glow really strong for the full 5 minutes. Easy to snap and activate, and the green color is super vibrant. Great to have on hand for fun or emergencies!

Short and bright. Not what I was expecting (title wasn't clear when ordering). I've never had such a short-lived glow stick. They are SUPER bright for 5-10 minutes, and completely done within 30 minutes.Included string is weak sauce.

I have mixed feelings about this glow stick. On one hand, it's the brightness one i've seen, basically like taking the light from a dozen regular glow sticks and combining it into one. On the other hand, it lasts minutes, so short a time that it's almost pointless. If it lasted an hour or even half an hour, it would be a different story.

These glow sticks are great to have around in a pinch. If you need a lot of light, then these are the brightest I've seen. However, they are designed to only last for 5 minutes. In my experience they last about twice as long but after 5 minutes are continually and slowly fading. If you need something that is going to keep you safe at night when your flashlight goes out, or your car breaks down, it would probably be better to get glow sticks that last a little longer. But if you have a need for a very bright short duration light, then these are perfect.
