We bought this to replace the old one in their heated pillow mat. It is now the one item the two fur munchkins will actually share, especially when there is a chill in the air.

This has quickly become my cat's new favorite item. She's terminally ill so I got this to help her feel better. The spot with the heater became her favorite spot and she loves lying on it. I like that this works much better than heat reflecting pads that barely warms up and is crinkly, and that the cat can trigger this herself by lying on it.

I’ve been buying these heating pads form K& H for my dog’s beds for over 15 years. This is the 4th one. The oldest one is 15 years old and is still working perfectly. They stay plugged in 24/7 from autumn to late spring. There is one in each of the chihuahuas 4 beds and they love them. I highly recommend them for small animals that want a little extra warmth.

I highly recommend the entire K&H Manufacturing line of heated pads, replacement pads, indoor outdoor pads, the lot. We do wildlife rescue, along with fostering critical care, neonates, and special needs animals, we have used these constantly for well over a decade now. They are practically indestructible, under normal conditions, but even a heavy chewer will kill these, if you allow it.I have used these, literally for years, non stop, 24/7. Love that they are super low energy use, DO NOT TURN OFF, and are incredibly versatile; we have yet to have a single one fail, at last count, we currently own 14 of this particular style of replacement bed heater. We are owned by 11 dogs and a cat, all of whom seek warmth, even when it is 30+ degrees out, still preferring to be under the polar fleece blankets. Despite the multiple, different (now) heated dog beds, the favorite one is our old futon couch we converted into one giant, communal pet bed!Put on a fitted sheet, then a thick polar fleece blanket, use rope to ensure it stays in place (when folded into couch) down the central crease. Place these heating pads between the fitted sheet and the polar fleece, along the "seat" of the couch, cover with the polar fleece blanket, and tuck it in on the sides, bottom and top. If you have MY dogs, you will then need to add a second polar fleece blanket or two on top so they can burrow in, and be covered on all sides.Or I guess you could use it as intended to replace a failed unit or turn any pet bed into a heated one....either way, I have used these in multiple ways (strapped to my office chair or recliner...), for years, and not had one fail me yet. The heat never varies, no cycling on/off, no more hot/warm/cool, no waking up to that insufferable auto shut off, nope, none of that. Just put in place, plug it in, and warm, gentle heat....I highly recommend the entire K&H Manufacturing line of heated pads, replacement pads, indoor outdoor pads, the lot. You may pay more up front (and YES, I have tried less expensive alternatives, all of which died within a year), but this is an electrical appliance that will stay plugged in, for years, permanently turned on and used by your pet. It is not worth having one fail at a critical time or worse yet, have an electrical fault that could cause serious harm to all; spend the money, get a reliable, trustworthy product that will operate hassle free for years, if not decades (many of mine are older than 10 years).HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are looking for a "heating pad" that is safe, inexpensive to operate, runs 24/7 and is completely reliable.

Una de mis gatitas es muy friolenta y la notaba que en tiempo de frio buscaba dormirse encima del capo de mi coche, desde que se lo compré se la pasa muy agusto, sú única queja es que a veces olvido conectarlo, muy recomendable!

These pads are simple, plug in, and they are on, and stay on, until you unplug them. They stay a constant temperature and never cycle up and down or shut off and use a ridiculously tiny amount of energy. Are they pricey, yep, but as I have YET to have one of these vinyl (?) pads fail me, and have used them for well over a decade, I can assure you they are absolutely worth the money.Technically they are replacement pads for their heated pet beds, although why you would ever need to replace them (not a one has failed on me yet in over a decade) is beyond me; perhaps it is so you can use them in OTHER manufacturers heated beds or take a regular bed and create a heated bed...I use them to turn human furniture, such as couches, into large, heated pet beds ( yep that is what you do when you are owned by 13 dogs!). I just lay them in a row down the futon couch, cover with a fitted sheet, then a polar fleece blanket and presto, a giant heated pet bed. If only you could see the looks on the faces of visitors who sit on the dog couch as their butt slowly heats up.........priceless!!!Okay, the facts: these use hardly any energy, and a little goes a long way, meaning, you really do not need a pad that fits the entire pets bed, half or less is more than enough. I know, I get it, you think more is better, WRONG. I tried that, replacing the tiny 6x6 pads in the 21 inch beds with larger ones and guess what, they were abandoned. As soon as I put the small ones back in, the animals went back to them. This also addresses how most folks think they are not warm enough...oh, they are, you just are not sitting or laying on them. When they are compressed against an insulated base and/or sandwiched by a living body, they are plenty warm, it just will not FEEL like it when you quickly place your hand on the bed it is installed in, but if you SIT on it, within moments you will understand how powerful these units are.I have yet to be disappointed by ANY K&H product...I own half a dozen heated water bowls, dozens EACH of their heated hard pads, the lectro soft heated pads and these soft pads. Not a single soft pad has failed on me yet; some are already much older than 10 yrs, and are in use 24/7, 365 days a year, non stop for all that time.PS: in winter, I lay a blanket over my recliner and tuck one of these in behind for warmth and to soothe my aching back.

We have two nine year old Sibling Burmese cats and I must admit we've spoiled them. But buying these warmers wasn't part of our spoiling them; I think they are a necessity. Before our cats arrived, I bought them a large dog bed so they could comfortably sleep together. Soon, my husband found the first K&H Bed Warmer and both cats loved it. Now, at age 9, the male has become Top Cat and doesn't always want to let his sister join him in the warm bed. So I just bought a second one and put it into the other large dog bed so she could have a warm bed of her own. These warmers are wonderful. They use very little electricity and they give them just the right amount of warmth to make them comfortable. We like them because we can turn down the heat at night in the Winter because that's how we're most comfortable and we know they are comfortable. In the Summer, we never have to worry about them being too cold because of the AC. We've had one of these for over six years and since they were made by K&H, we had complete confidence in them and they haven't let us downTry one for your dog or cat and add a little warmth to their lives!EDIT: March 23, 2018Yes, indeed, I bought a second one for my female cat and her brother stopped losing his bed and wanted to share her bed with her. I couldn't understand it. I thought they'd each have their own warm bed and everything would be fine. DUH! I couldn't figure it out until I felt how warm his bed was compared to hers. Guess what? His warmer had warn out after 6 years! What did I expect? I love K&H but just how long did I think a warmer would last, since it's been used daily, 365 days a year, for 6 years! I often wonder at my own stupidity. So I bought him a new warmer and he is perfectly happy in his bed. Now my problem is that since they are practically identical cats, having come from the same litter, I never know who's in which bed. She has to medicated twice a day and occasionally. I'll pick a cat up from her bed and the cat will snuggle into me (which they both do) and I'll sit down, ready to give her the medicine and lo and behold! I'll discover I've got the wrong cat! And he's still just snuggling into me, not even realizing I was going to give him her wretched tasting medicine! So I still give the K&H bed warmer 5 stars but my guess is that after four or five years of constant use, it should be replaced! :)Note: January 2024: My female is driving her brother crazy because for the last few months, she wants to sleep in his be, not her own . I realized that her bed isn't as warm as his. I never mentioned that I put layer of dish towels (!? Seemed like the best size) on top of this heating pad, then the mattress that goes into their beds, when I use this. I just think the pad itself is too warm for any cat. Now that they're getting older (almost sixteen), I know they crave heat even more. I removed one of the towels I put over her bed but she wouldn't sleep in it. I'm hoping the pads have dates on them so I can tell when I bought which one. If he's is too old, I'll replace it and see if I can coax her to leave her brother's bed but I don't know if she just likes being close to him or if it's the temperature change she is feeling. Will inform you.

I saw some reviews saying that this product doesn't get very warm, and it doesn't... Until a little cat body has been laying on it for 10 minutes and then it feels like a sheet of fire. The way the product works isn't that it warms up for the animal, but it amplifies the animals own body heat while they lay on it. With nothing sitting on it there is barely any difference in temperature compared to the rest of the room.My cats love it. One of them almost never leaves it except to eat and use the bathroom and the other cats will crowd in with her if they are feeling cold. I am probably going to have to purchase a second one so they won't have to fight over it.When it first arrived the new plastic smell had all the cats avoiding it, but that went away in a couple days.

This heating pad is DANGEROUS. I received it yesterday morning. When I turned to on, I waited 15 minutes and I could not feel much warmth from it. It felt the same as the air, which was about 73'F. I read that it gets warmer with a pet on it, so I was patient. My dog loved it and slept on it on and off throughout the day. I was relieved because I didn't want a warmer that didn't get warm. That night, I put the warmer on top of a towel, on top of a recliner beside my bed. My doxie is old and terminally ill, so I keep him next to my bed on the recliner at night so I can tend to him if he wakes up. On a normal night, he wakes up 2-3 times for bathroom and water. Last night woke up so many times and wouldn't lie back down. His body was really hot. I thought he might be running a fever. I couldn't understand why until I checked the bed warmer and discovered it was SO VERY HOT! I don't know how he slept on it at all. Thankfully he has his sweater on, and the warmer was covered, but even still, it was hot enough to slow cook my poor dog. As a person with back problems, I love heat. I love really hot baths and really hot heating pads, but this heating pad was too hot even for me, even wrapped in a quilted pillow sham. The towel and recliner under the mat were so hot, I worried that it might melt or start a fire. This heat pad is not supposed to get hot, but it became so dangerously hot. If I had not been there to assist my dog, he might have leapt out of his chair to his death, or it may have started a fire or melted my furniture. I'm shocked that a warmer like this is allowed on the market. It's a health hazard for pets, and a fire hazard for the home. After waiting 2 weeks for a bed warmer my terminally ill desperately needed, I am shocked and dismayed that it is so dangerous. I have to return it now and order a different warmer. Any suggestions? PLEASE ignore the positive ratings. DO NOT BUY THIS DANGEROUS PRODUCT! It should be recalled. Anyone who owns this heating pad should really monitor their pet, they bedding, and the warmer very closely. In fact, I think they should get rid of it before it causes real harm. No exaggeration. I should have headed the warnings by other buyers, but there were so many positive, I ignored them and bought it anyway. My dog paid the price. He is ok now, but I feel terrible.
