This tools had some surface rust when I received it. I had to disassemble it and clean with a brass brush to remove the rust. It seems to work fine now. The last picture was taken after I removed the rust.

This is a great tool! Filing to get a straight edge on a wire is so much easier now. It saves me so much time. It also does 45 degree angles.

Given the price I was happy to see the overall quality seemed good but checked it for squareness and was very disappointed. Given it is a jig that is supposed to allow for a square cut I would think the surfaces should be square to each other.

This miter jig is not very good quality. I expected that it would be decent for the price I paid. I wish I had waited and spent more money for a better one, but I needed it in a hurry. The packaging says its made in Pakistan, something that I don't believe is stated in the description. Had I known that I would never have purchased as Pakistani tools are far inferior to, well, almost any other. The posts that hold the unit together are crooked so that it is very difficult to open and close and it doesn't hold the metal straight, completely defeating the purpose of the tool. I'm completely disgusted. I would avoid at all costs.

I was in doubt about how "awesome" this was going to be. I mean everyone just praised it and I thought, for the $ I will just use a file..... Well, Now, after using it one time on my first ring band made with it, I wanted to kick myself! All that time wasted trying to file it JUST RIGHT, AHHH ..... it's over! This miter jigger is a time and nerve saver, which in the end is still a $ saver. So stop waiting and just buy it already!

This tool makes filing the edges of wire SO easy. I don' t know why I didn't buy one sooner. I never get the ends level and I have trouble getting the solder to flow properly. Now I have perfect edges and easier soldering.
