The ratchet part is metal, the rest is plastic including the tightening bolt. It broke immediately and just spun uselessly. Just ended up using my hacksaw

My husband wanted this ratcheting tubing cutter. He is happy with how it has worked so far. It is comfortable for him to grip and he has had no issues with it so far.

The Musibo Ratcheting Tubing Cutter works well. I cut 1/2" PVC without difficulty. I think a regular tubing cutter is faster if you have plenty of space but this one works great in tight spaces. But when space is limited this ratcheting cutter makes it easy.

I'm a plumber and this pipe cutter works flawlessly! Love the ratcheting mechanism, which makes cutting pipe so much easier! Highly recommend!

Seriously, it feels cheap and most part is plastic but the blade is sharp and the cut was straight and it got the job done. Got it for cutting a pipe between a tiled wall and exterior brick wall. I was able to use this through a hole of the non-tiled part of the wall about 2 feet away and cut the section of the pipe with a pinhole and used a shakebite to connect the two ends back together without breaking any of the wall tile. This is the kind of tool that will save you hours if not days.

The ratcheting action of this tubing cutter is a significant advantage when cutting tubing in cramped quarters, e.g. removing an existing installation close to a wall. The convenience comes some drawbacks for uses where access is not a problem: 1) The size adjustment screw is slower to adjust than that for more conventional cutter designs. 2) The cutter cannot be adjusted to handle tubes smaller than 5/16" diameter. It would be considerably more useful if it could handle 1/4" tubing. Most mini tubing cutters will handle both these situations at about 1/3 the cost. It appears the cutter will accept standard replacement cutting wheels, although that is not made clear and a search of the seller's website provides no information.

The tool, in build and presentation, is a bit roughly made. The cutter is rough plastic and feels a bit cheap and already got worn in shipping, as the box was also rough. That said, in terms of function, this works great. It is different from traditional pipe cutters, and works much more smoothly and is more versatile. The bigger size lets this work for larger pipes as well, and it leaves clean edges. This set is also good value in that it includes a deburring tool, with several different heads.
