Saved me lots of time after hurricane milton.Very sharp and sturdy. Let the saw do the work without using to much pressure.

It was for my son who is building a dog house. Made well. Cuts with little effort.

These orange bow saws are the best. Cut through wood like a warm knife through butter.

Update: I just received a replacement and the retaining pin is barely through the thin aluminum frame on this one also. I’m not even going to try using this. Find a different brand or immediately put a replacement bolt with washers and a nut through the existing hole. This is NOT durable. On the very first sapling that I tried to cut up (to turn into a camp chair) the locking pin at the end broke off about 4 or 5 saw strokes into the sapling. Truper was a high quality brand previously but I suspect that they’re now using cheap Chinese metals now to increase their profit margin. I’m very disappointed!!

I bought this hand saw because I did not want to buy another chainsaw. I wanted a light saw that did not need maintenance, gas or oil and did not need sharpening. I have 20 acres of wooded land and I have gone through 3 chainsaws because of one thing or another at $250.00 to $300.00 per saw plus the oil and gas I decided to spend $40.00 on this saw and could not be happier. it also keeps me a lot more active using the saw than if I were using a chainsaw. I highly recommend this product if you are looking at cutting trees and limbs that are less then 18 to 24 inches wide. anything bigger you may want to invest into a more robust saw

Nice saw, light and goes through wood pretty quick.

Just got this saw. It has some pros and cons. Pros: 1. It's inexpensive compared to competitors (which you could also read as "it's priced appropriately for a bent steel tube and a saw blade"). 2. It properly tensions the blade, which is basically its only job. 3. The saw blade it ships with is pretty decent. The rakers aren't all that aggressive so it can bog down in soft, sappy pine, but it'll get your christmas tree down if that's what you're after.Cons: 1. The paint was marked up right out of the packaging, even inside the little protective shipping sleeve it comes in. Makes me wonder what games they're playing with these at the factory. 2. There's a weird plastic hand-guard (?) insert shown in the picture. That's not part of the tensioner, and after installing the blade I couldn't figure out how to get it back in. It cuts fine without it and I've never owned a bow saw that had one of these so I discarded it. Mystery shipping component? Important safety device? No idea - no instructions included. 3. As I said, the saw blade is meant for hardwood. It cuts great through that but the rakers aren't spaced enough for regular cutting softwood. NBD - it takes standard saw blades so just get one to suit what you're cutting. Most people will want a "green wood" blade.Note: Bow saw blades dull quickly because the saws are often used to cut dirty wood. They're easy to sharpen but nobody ever does. So you get the saw, it cuts AMAZING the first time, then four years later you use it again and it doesn't cut well and you go buy a chain saw. Probably you stored it wet from the first cutting, and the sharp edges rusted enough to dull them on the second cut. To prevent this, always clean your saw blades. WD-40 is great for the final rust preventer.

I grew up in Boy Scouts, the Adirondack Mountain Club, and we had an orchard in the back yard. I have used a lot of different saws and this one is really well constructed. The 24-Inch model has a high enough arch to accommodate really large logs. I would suggest getting the 24-Inch over the smaller models just to be sure you have enough saw to get through any project. If you are looking for a backpacking saw, this is too heavy. The steel arch is pretty heavy-duty. The finger guard/ handle is a nice touch. The blade could have been a little sharper out of the box, but I figured blades need to get sharpened every so often anyways, so I still gave the saw 5 stars.

I just started using this saw that I bought over 2 weeks ago and I would highly recommend this product. It goes through green trees very easily and is well constructed.Just to add to my initial review: I have been using this saw a lot lately and would still give it a very high rating. The color is great too because it helps you find it if you set it down in the woodlot. That handle doesn't look like much but it serves the purpose well compared to saws without one and is a nice knuckle protector too.
