The filter was easy to install and fit perfectly. Only issue. The last filter was a combination of fabric and metal mesh. This filter is only metal mesh. It is much thinner but the screen is also finer. Do not know which is one is preferable. The Fabric filter had very low air flow once the filter got even a little dirty and it was very hard to clean. Imagine more air will get through these vents but more grease will build up inside vents with just a mesh screen. Wonder if the filter can be washed in a dishwasher. Wanted to submit this as a question but the option seemed to disabled.

I bought this grease filter to replace the dirty one on my Whirlpool 30 inch hood. It works perfectly and it was super easy to install. This was the first time I had ever changed a grease filter and I did not even need to look up instructions!

This is the correct grease filter for the Model No. UXT4230ADS1 range hood by Whirlpool. I had a hard time finding the right one. This is it. Fits perfectly. At first, when I installed it, there was a bit of chattering due to vibration. I turned it 180 degrees, reinstalled it, and there was no more chattering. These metal components, and the housings into which they fit, tend to have a very slight warp to them, and once it was turned around the warp made the fit secure, which eliminated the chattering. I am not going to try to clean this in the dishwasher. I read that this was possible, and I tried to clean the prior one by putting it through the dishwasher, which did not work (the metal became dull and discolored, and it was still dirty). I might try to clean it by soaking it in a strong cleaner. Otherwise, when the time comes, I will replace it again. The first one lasted about one year. I am happy to have located this product.
