Smooth-ish bearings, no real grip. Very typical of pedals that would come with most bikes. I'd spend more on something made of aluminum.

this pair of pedals mimics the original pedals, with dual reflectors and a strong plastic construction. it also has an Allen key hole on the inside to ease with removal/installation. these pedals are wider, and also stick out less than the original pedals do, which makes storage a bit easier. the design of the pedal is also decent, with a solid bolt throughout the pedals.
