I ordered a size Medium based on measurements for my tall, thin 9 yo. The material is nice and thick. The fit is good, but almost too short, and I worried sizing up would be way too large. This will be perfect for her to use under her ballet costumes.

This worked very well under my daughter’s itchy dance costume and didn’t show- but the straps would NOT stay up. We had to pin them (which I would have done anyway.) also, it’s not super long in the torso- was fine for my daughter but might be a problem if you’ve got a longer torso’d Kid.

It definitely ran small. My daughter is almost 6 and she is 46 inches and it barely fit her but it worked for her performance. I liked that the chest is high so I didn't have to worry about her girl parts being exposed. Her best friend who is 6 but is about 38 inches tall got the same size and it fit her perfectly. My favorite part is that the leotard is lined. It is thick and very well made.
