It is a good meal for bag packers. Gets ready inside bad and in 20 minutes. Convenient for outside meal. Its great for vegans and contains tons of vegies. 290 calories. It has good flavors too. If you are outside camping what more can you ask? A gourmet hot meal prepared in 20 minutes without having to waste any dishes. The only reason I have it 4 start is the price. 1 bag for 11.99 is very pricey.

This is my first time trying a camping meal, and this is pretty good overall. I prepared it according to the directions, and it tasted good. The noodles are short and thin, so they end up kind of mushy. It is tasty mush, but still mush. It also has brown sugar in it, which really is not needed. I do love that it is vegan and preservative-free. The product is made by a small business in Santa Barbara, California.

Great flavor, love the black garlic. Can’t wait to try the others. My camping buddies were envious of my dinner.

As a tired pregnant mama I started looking for quick easy meal ideas when I don’t have the energy to cook, and wow I could not have been happier with this meal (my toddler loved it too!!) It’s super filling, I had some flat bread from Trader Joe’s I used to scoop it with a little yogurt on top as they suggested and it was sooo good... I’m definitely going to be trying all their meals!

I recently purchased the ramen folk foods meal for a camping trip after failing to find anything good at REI. It was honestly the best camp food I have ever had! I had read some reviews that the noodles were too short but I thought they were the prefect size, easy to scoop up with my fork and perfectly cooked. The flavor was also great and kept me full for hours. This is not cup of noodles - it's much more refined and honestly a great value for what you are getting. It's nice to have something that's not processed and full of chemicals. I will definitely be re-purchasing.

Truly this is beyond insanely delicious! This is 1000% not to be compared with ramen so put that from your mind. As someone who loves food when it is well prepared and flavorful, I was really excited to try this. I often find myself wanting something easy to make for dinner that is still real food. And man did I hit the jackpot. It was so easy to make- literally just boiled water and poured it in. It sat while I got my kids to bed. One extra stir and ta da! Perfect timing- sleeping kids and time to feast. I was impressed by how the flavors all meshed together while still being really interesting. it worked so well together but you could still taste all of the individual components. I loved the nuances of the black garlic flavor the most- totally not something I've ever seen in any other meal like this. Also, SO appreciated the noodles cut shorter. I was eating it right out of the bag with a spoon (didn't want to miss any drop of the delicious end bits) so longer noodles would absolutely not have worked. Huge thanks to whoever on team Poe & Co decided to opt for the short noodles- you saved a big mess on my shirt and lap. I also really loved the packaging and totally smiled when it popped open as I poured the water in. The portion was massive too. I was so full (and happy) for my last few bites. If you're someone who has good taste in food, really loves and appreciates actual quality and seasoning, and who doesn't want a boring mush of grossness- GET THIS. You will not be disappointed.

Poe & Co. Folk Foods Black Garlic Ramen Bowl is a tasty plant based meal that you can enjoy when backpacking and camping and even included in an earthquake preparation kit. The resealable pouch holds 3.52oz of a blend of ingredients including broken ramen pieces mixed with dried vegetables and has a bold aroma of dried vegetables and dried seaweed snacks. To make the meal you simply need to tear open the pouch and add 1 1/4cups of boiling water to the fill line, give it a stir, reseal the bag and wait 20 minutes. Open the pouch, stir once more and enjoy. The manufacturer stated that rehydration time takes longer at higher altitudes. I measured the water out but for those relying on the fill line marking I feel that this is one detail that could be improved. The marked line is drawn on the outside of the bag. I think that if the line was marked on the inside of the bag with an indentation or stamp mark, it would make it easier for anyone making it at night when backpacking to ensure that the correct amount of boiling water is used. The finished dish is filled with tender noodles and a sea of tender vegetables. The sauce has flavor notes that reminds me of teriyaki as it is savory and sweet. Black garlic has a naturally sweet flavor so I expected it to be sweet, however, I was surprised to see that the manufacturer had also added brown sugar. Thus, the dish was sweeter to me than it needed to be. It also includes togarashi which traditionally has spicy flavor notes but I did not detect these spice notes when eating. It is a filling and satisfying meal where I did not miss meat. I was also surprised that the flavor did not have a heavily salty flavor as some quick cooked ramen meals have. The meal is made with pronounceable and recognizable ingredients including ramen noodles (wheat flour, water, salt, potassium carbonate, sodium carbonate, beta carotene (color)), extra virgin olive oil, carrots, cabbage, edamame, potato starch, lime juice powder, brown sugar, ground red miso, ginger, ground black garlic, Himalayan pink salt, garlic, mushroom powder, soy powder, nori (seaweed), scallions, togarashi (spices include chili flakes, ginger), sesame seeds, orange peel, salt, and nori (seaweed). The manufacturer stated that the product is manufactured in a facility that processes nuts, fish, wheat, milk, and egg. If you have a food allergy to any or all of these foods, please be aware. Each 1 pouch serving contains 290 Calories, 15g Total Fat, 36g Total Carbohydrates, and 7g Protein. The pouch also contains a whopping 660mg Sodium which is equivalent to 29% of your daily allocation. It is Made in the USA (Santa Barbara, CA). The product that I received has a best by date of 10 months from the date that I received it. Overall, it is a tasty plant-based meal that will leave you feeling full but not heavy but I wish that it was less sweet.
